Uninstall Freenet on Mac OS X

The FreenetTray 2.0+ application has a built in uninstaller you can use, but you may need to update your copy by following these directions: Update FreenetTray on Mac OS X.

If your Mac cannot run the newer versions of FreenetTray, or you would rather delete the files manually, here’s an exhaustive list of filesystem locations Freenet has used in the past ~7 years:

  • ~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.freenet.startup.plist
  • /Applications/Freenet
  • ~/Library/Application Support/Freenet
  • /Applications/FreenetTray.app
  • ~/Applications/FreenetTray.app

If this does not fix the issue, please open a support ticket.
